The SDCOA Game Warden Cookbook is a collection of favorite wild game and traditional recipes submitted by Game Wardens from across the state of South Dakota.  You will find new and exciting ways to cook all of your favorite game animals and fish. 

Included with the recipes are stories and photos of many SD game and fish cases.  We hope that you enjoy the book and it lets you savor the great taste of the outdoors a little more.

Proceeds raised from the sale of our cookbooks go towards "The Game Warden Memorial" and also the 50/50 fund which contributes to the families of Game Wardens that have lost their lives in the line of duty.

HONEY WALLEYE

1 egg 1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. honey 1/3 to 1/2 C cooking oil
2 C crushed butter-flavored crackers 8 to 10 boneless walleye fillets

  Beat the egg with the honey in a shallow dish. Combine crushed crackers and salt and place into plastic bag. Dip fish into honey-egg mixture and shake in bag until coated. Cook fillets in oil for 3 to 5 minutes per side, or until golden brown.
